The Smallest Laptop

Do not look now, but the race to get to the smallest laptop is heating up.

Please don’t get me wrong here…this is a wonderful new thing that we are attempting to yet again do…this shrinking of those things that mean the most to us…my concern and it is a very valid one is do we need for things to get this small?

Funny how the televisions in our worlds are getting bigger daily but that we are demanding the smallest laptops possible.

Here’s my confusion…we as a society love to watch the sizes of these televisions go to enormous while we are also willing and now want our laptops to someday fit our our wrists and I simply am astonished by the lack of focus.

Naturally, the smaller the laptop the smaller the screens and that, to me is the issue.

As our technology grows, we are asking our laptops to shrink.

From a processor standpoint and from the point of view of the hardware, this all makes sense.

But is this the best decision that can be made for those of us that have great use for a great screen on our laptops?

The fact is that the hunt and the goal of the smallest laptop must come with winners and losers. And clearly, the loser here is the computer user that loves the big screen.

The graphics and the resolution performance on these smaller screens has never been this advanced, no doubt.

And then the question remains as to is that enough for the entertainment lovers that we really are?

So here’s the one million dollar question…is the shrinking of these laptops and the subsequent shrinking of their screen in the best interest of everyone?

That answer would be a clear no from the movie watchers and from the graphic artists and for those who love the bigness of the big screens.

Welcomed and loved…that is how the majority of people who want these small laptops are approaching this new paradigm. There is a massive push on now to come up with the minimalest laptop. People everywhere have to get the best minimal laptop and they have to get to see just how minimal it can get.

Laptops can only be so small before you really can’t work on them. I hate working on my Ipad because of the size.
