How Tuning Your Computer Can Improve Performance
My computer had been running slowly for quite some time and I was beginning to consider buying a new one, even the best laptops, including, refurbished laptops and pink laptops, can run into computer problems such as these. I went through all the computer sites like Dell and PC World they all had some great offers on. What did strike me though was that the spec on new computers was not so different from that of my current machine and an upgrade would be expensive. Once I knew this I set upon a different course and decided to fix up the computer I have.
I began my research on how to make the computer run faster online. I searched for “fix my slow computer” on MSN and it brought up a lot of results, most of these results where software programs which might be useful but first I wanted to find an unbiased guide to what could be done. I found what I wanted on page to of the search results.
The guide began with a few simple steps such as removing unused items from the desktop and getting rid of programs such as I tunes which run as soon as you load the computer up. This made the computer load quicker but did not change the overall speed.
The guide began with a few simple steps such as removing unused items from the desktop and getting rid of programs such as I tunes which run as soon as you load the computer up. This did make the computer load faster but didn’t really change the overall running speed of it. After this the guide I read said I should defrag my hard disc. This took a long time to do although I didn’t actually have to do much it was more of a case of set it running and then go and make a drink. After I had defragged the hard drive I did notice an improvement in performance but I still felt that I could get more out of the computer so I went on to the next step, The next step was to repair any windows registry errors on the computer. These errors cause the computer to run slowly. Fixing the errors meant getting a free windows registry scan and then paying to get the errors fixed. Fixing the errors made a massive difference although I wouldn’t say it made my computer as good as new.
